Gamepasses Guide

Speedster Showdown sells Roblox gamepasses on top of a free PvP battlegrounds experience. Passes transferred through the 26 July 2025 reupload, so if you owned them on Sonic Showdown you should still have them. Prices move. Treat every Robux number on this page as a snapshot, not a store contract. Open the live experience shop before you buy. None of these passes are required to learn controls or to land a three-hit M1.

The honest pitch: Early Access is optional, not a pay-to-win ticket, according to how this wiki treats the shop — but WIP kits behind it can be strong, buggy, or both. That is not the same as “buy this to skip skill.” Like the game first, as the Getting Started walkthrough says. Then spend on purpose.

Community gifts still exist. Check community rewards and the codes hub before you Robux a cosmetic that a Discord drop might have covered.

Early Access (about 299 Robux)

Early Access is the WIP-character pass. In the current shop that means Mecha Sonic and Infinite-style access: kits that are in the file, unfinished, and missing awakenings. Mecha has no awakening yet. Infinite received a base kit with the Knight of the Wind update and also has no awakening yet. Both can win a lobby. Both can also break a string or a hurtbox in a patch. Buy EA if you like labbing unfinished tools. Do not buy EA to “catch up” to people who simply hold F.

If a friend swears EA is required, they are selling you impatience. The public roster — Sonic through Lord X, plus Knight of the Wind as a mastery-line character — is enough to learn the game. See the roster and tier list after you can already convert without a WIP kit.

VIP and PS+

VIP and PS+ are quality-of-life / status passes, not extra health. Exact perks shift with the shop listing. Expect lobby flair, queue or cosmetic privileges, and the usual battlegrounds VIP package — then read the live prompt. Neither pass teaches dash stun. If you only have Robux for one thing and you already like the game, cosmetics you will see every match beat a VIP tag you forget.

Kill Sounds and Character Accessories

Kill Sounds replace the default confirm audio. After the reupload stripped licensed music and voicelines, a custom kill sound is one of the few audio flexes left. It does not change damage. Character Accessories dress the fighter. They can make a silhouette harder to read in a dark Cove corner, which is a real but tiny edge, not a kit rewrite. Buy them because you like the look.

Awakening Outfit Selector

Lets you pick how the pop looks. Super Sonic, Hyper Knuckles, Neo Metal, GOD — the move data stays, the outfit swap is presentation. Useful if you main one character and hate the default transformation. Useless if you cannot fill the bar. Read awakenings before you spend on a skin for a form you never reach.

Extra Emote Slots and Bizarre Villains

Extra Emote Slots expand the wheel. Bizarre Villains is an emotes pack. The compilation on this page is the visual catalog: every emote in the revival, including pack extras. Emotes do not block. Emotes do not dash. They are lobby language and a way to get hit on Tails Doll Cove while you teabag. Buy packs after your binds are automatic. If you need a slot for a mastery flex, you already know.

Mastery pass

The Mastery gamepass is the shop side of the mastery system. Dark Sonic and Knight of the Wind still have in-match unlock conditions; a pass does not replace kills and hours. Community guesses for Knight of the Wind sit around 300 to 400 Sonic kills plus about ten hours — unofficial, confirm in Discord. The masteries guide and the Sonic page cover the difference: Dark Sonic is an edgy Super variant, Knight of the Wind is a full alternate character. Do not buy a pass thinking it is a skip code for that grind unless the live shop text explicitly says so — and re-read that text, because it changes.

Spend order if you already like the game

  1. Nothing, until you have a week of PvP and a like on the experience.
  2. Accessories or Kill Sounds if you want to see/hear a change every stock.
  3. Extra emote slots or Bizarre Villains if you live in the lobby.
  4. Awakening Outfit Selector if you main one pop.
  5. VIP or PS+ if you want the tag.
  6. Early Access last, on purpose, to lab Mecha or Infinite, not to flee Sonic.
  7. Mastery pass only after you understand the unofficial Knight of the Wind grind and have confirmed it in Discord.

Never spend to skip maps knowledge or combo routing. A 299 Robux WIP kit on Cove with no dash discipline is still a donation. After a patch, skim updates — especially Knight of the Wind — before you buy a pass that advertised a kit that just changed.

Passes are optional. The revival is free to fight in. If the shop is loud, mute it, queue a quiet server, and land three M1s. Robux is for when that loop is already fun.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is Early Access pay-to-win in Speedster Showdown?

This wiki treats EA as optional, not required. WIP kits (Mecha, Infinite) can be strong or buggy. Learn binds first; about 299 Robux is a later decision.

Did my Sonic Showdown gamepasses transfer?

Yes. The 26 July 2025 reupload transferred passes. Confirm in the live shop if a specific item is missing after the move.

What does the Mastery gamepass actually skip?

Read the live prompt. Dark Sonic and Knight of the Wind still have playtime/kill rumors. Confirm unlocks in Discord; see masteries.

Which pass should I buy first?

None, until you like the game. Then cosmetics you see every match. Put Early Access last unless you specifically want unfinished kits.

Can I get cosmetics without Robux?

Sometimes. Watch Discord and the community rewards page, plus the codes hub, before you pay for a drop that was free.
