Character Roster Hub

Speedster Showdown launched on Roblox on 26 July 2025 as an online PvP battlegrounds. This hub is the map of every fighter you can pick on a public server. It is not a ranked ladder and it is not a story campaign. You load into a map, you pick a kit, and you try to convert health into a kill before someone else converts you. The roster grew out of the older Sonic Showdown reupload, then expanded through Early Access slots, a Knight of the Wind era update, and horror kits that sit under a mild-fear maturity label.

Use the child pages when you want depth. Sonic and Knight of the Wind covers the hedgehog line. Heroes and Support Cast covers Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Rouge, Blaze, and Silver. Shadow, Metal, and Eggman covers the doctor, the robots, Infinite, and Mephiles. Dedicated follow-ups: Infinite guide for the base-only jackal and Doom Shadow guide for the 2026 Shadow-line kit. Horror Roster covers Furnace, Starved, Sonic.EXE, Lord X, and the exclusive 2017 X slot. After you know who you want, jump to the PvP tier list for a September 2026 community snapshot, or to the awakening guide when you are ready to spend a full bar.

How the select screen is grouped

The in-game list is long, so this wiki splits it by playstyle instead of by unlock date. The Sonic line is Sonic, his Super form, the Dark Sonic mastery path, and Knight of the Wind as a full separate kit. The hero line is the classic support cast: flight and gadgets on Tails, grounded power on Knuckles, hammer pressure on Amy, aerial mix-ups on Rouge, fire on Blaze, and psychokinesis on Silver. The villain line is Shadow, Metal Sonic, Mecha Sonic, Infinite, Eggman, Mephiles, and the 2026 Shadow-line slot Doom Shadow. The horror line is Furnace, Starved, Sonic.EXE, and Lord X, plus the exclusive 2017 X skin-kit. Exclusive and developer slots sit at the end so you do not confuse them with the public roster.

Mecha Sonic is still Early Access and has no awakening yet. Infinite received a base kit in the Knight of the Wind era update and also has no awakening yet. Those two facts matter more than flavor text. If a page ranks an Early Access kit as if the ult already existed, treat that page as outdated.

Main roster, one line each

  • Sonic — default speed kit, Super Sonic awakening, Dark Sonic mastery as a second path.
  • Tails — spindash, flight grab, blaster, and the 500 IQ awakening.
  • Knuckles — drill pressure, Hyper Knuckles via Super Emeralds, Earthquake Trigger in awakening.
  • Shadow — Chaos tools, Inhibitor Release, and a reworked fourth move that charges into Chaos Blast.
  • Amy — hammer pressure into Rose Radiance.
  • Rouge — aerial mix-ups into G.U.N. AGENT.
  • Blaze — fire control into Fire Princess.
  • Metal Sonic — copy kit with a high skill ceiling into Neo Metal Sonic.
  • Mecha Sonic — Early Access robot, no awakening yet.
  • Infinite — base kit from the Knight of the Wind era, homing unblockable starter reputation, no awakening yet. Dedicated page: Infinite guide.
  • Doom Shadow — 2026 Shadow-line kit tied to the DOOM title tag, not Inhibitor Release. Dedicated page: Doom Shadow guide.
  • Eggman — summons and Death Egg Robot; Big Arms is the 2026 awakening the official channel called broken. Recap: Doom and Big Arms.
  • Silver — psychokinesis into Psychic Break; community still asks for a rework.
  • Mephiles — puddle invuln, grabs, and The Twisted Reflection.
  • Furnace — burn kit into OVERHEAT.
  • Starved — bite-and-heal kit into Insatiable Hunger, plus Starved Lair.
  • Sonic.EXE — horror hedgehog into GOD.
  • Lord X — chase-and-counter kit plus a dedicated ult.
  • Knight of the Wind — full Sonic-line character with its own base and awakening forms, not a skin of Sonic.

Exclusive slots: Goku (limited), 2017 X (limited), and Emde Dev (developer only). Do not plan a public-server main around exclusive kits.

Awakening names to memorize

You will see these labels on bars, clash intros, and patch notes. Super Sonic and Dark Sonic sit on Sonic. 500 IQ sits on Tails. Hyper Knuckles sits on Knuckles. Inhibitor Release sits on Shadow. Rose Radiance sits on Amy. G.U.N. AGENT sits on Rouge. Fire Princess sits on Blaze. Neo Metal Sonic sits on Metal Sonic through a Phantom Ruby portal. Death Egg Robot sits on Eggman; Big Arms is the 2026 awakening documented on Doom and Big Arms. Doom Shadow is a later Shadow-line slot, not Inhibitor Release. Psychic Break sits on Silver and uses a Chaos Emerald absorb similar to Sonic. The Twisted Reflection sits on Mephiles. OVERHEAT sits on Furnace. Insatiable Hunger sits on Starved. GOD sits on Sonic.EXE. Lord X has a dedicated ult. Mecha Sonic and Infinite are N/A until those kits leave the unfinished state.

What a kit actually has to do

Every public match still asks the same four questions. Can you start a combo without eating a counter? Can you spend a bar without wasting it on a blocked cinematic? Can you live on Green Hill Zone, Marble Zone, Tails Doll Cove, HILL, and Baseplate Spire without falling off? Can you respect Starved Lair if that map is in rotation? A fighter who looks strong in a private showcase can still lose those four tests on a crowded server. That is why this hub sends you to both character pages and the PvP tier list instead of declaring a single best pick.

Damage numbers in community clips are reports, not patch-note gospel. Knight of the Wind and Infinite base both have 180-damage combo reports. Starved has an infinite-combo reputation. Metal Sonic has a high skill ceiling more than a free win. Those claims belong in the snapshot dated September 2026, and they will move when the next balance pass lands.

How to read child pages

Start with Sonic and Knight of the Wind if you are new, because the hedgehog line teaches dash timing, bar dump, and mastery swapping. Move to Heroes and Support Cast when you want a grounded or projectile alternative. Open Shadow, Metal, and Eggman when you are ready for copy tools, charged Chaos Blast, and incomplete ults. Open the Infinite guide for the base-only jackal and the Doom Shadow guide for the 2026 Shadow-line kit. Open Horror Roster only after you accept mild-fear presentation: red lighting, chase themes, and grab cinematics that some players mute.

If you came here from a YouTube thumbnail, watch the showcase once, then lab two kits instead of buying every gamepass. Early Access characters can still be buggy. Exclusive kits do not prove the public meta. Developer kits are not a ranking argument.

First-week roster plan

Pick three names, not eighteen. A clean first week is Sonic for movement, Knuckles for a simple grounded confirm, and Amy for a hammer that teaches block pressure. After ten public matches, add one villain (Shadow or Metal Sonic) and one horror kit only if the maturity label does not bother you. Skip Mecha Sonic and Infinite as “mains” until you accept that their bars do not transform. If you still want the jackal later, use the Infinite guide. Doom Shadow is 2026 homework on the Doom Shadow guide, not a first-week portrait. Skip Goku, 2017 X, and Emde Dev unless you already own the slot.

When a patch lands, re-read this hub from the awakening list downward. Names stay stable longer than damage. Hyper Beatdown on Knuckles used to dump an enemy awakening bar; that is history, not a current combo note. Meteor Smash on Silver used to deal 225; that is also history. Shadow’s fourth move now wants a hold charge for Chaos Blast. If a guide still describes the old version, trust the newest updates hub over memory.

The last thing this page should do is send you into a match with a shopping list. Open Sonic and Knight of the Wind, lock one hedgehog kit, and treat every other portrait as homework for later sessions. Come back to this hub only when you need a name, an awakening title, a reminder that Mecha and Infinite still have no ult, or a pointer to the dedicated Infinite and Doom Shadow lab pages.

Mecha Sonic is Early Access with no awakening yet. Infinite has a base kit from the Knight of the Wind era and also has no awakening yet. Treat both as incomplete until a patch adds an ult.

Where should I go after this hub?

Read Sonic and Knight of the Wind, then the PvP tier list and the awakening guide. Use child pages instead of trying to main the whole select screen. Unfinished or 2026 kits have dedicated notes: Infinite and Doom Shadow.

Are exclusive characters part of the public meta?
